Combined Humanitarian
Assistance Response Training
(CHART)
Duration: 1 week

Combined Humanitarian Assistance Response Training (CHART) is an introductory course designed to provide basic information about complex contingency operations in an international arena to U. S. military service men and women. The course has been adapted for foreign militaries requesting the training, including the Singapore Armed Forces and the Japan Self-Defense Forces. Graduates of this course are better prepared to perform their duties toward achieving the missions as prescribed by their command in theaters where complex contingencies exist.

Training Assistance Program (TAP)
Duration: 4 days or less

The Center offers customized education and training packages called the Training Assistance Program or TAP. These training programs are designed to meet specific training objectives of the requesting organization. The host organization selects the curriculum and devleops a draft agenda based on the training objectives and target audience. The Center's staff can provide the didactic training, facilitation support and case study management in support of the event. The curriculum can be based on existing Center products, such as EIPC and CHART, or be developed to meet emerging mission focused requirements for the requesting organization.

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Civil Military Coordination Courses (UN-CMCOORD)
Duration: 3 weeks

COE facilitates the Civil Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord) course conducted by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) up to twice a year in the Asia-Pacific Region. The UN-CMCoord is designed to address the need for coordination between international civilian humanitarian actors, especially UN humanitarian agencies and international military forces in an international humanitarian emergency. Training plays a critical role in building capacity to facilitate effective coordination in the field.
