Driving Directions
From the Honolulu International Airport to Tripler Grounds:
Exit the airport through Paiea Street onto Nimitz Highway. Turn right onto Nimitz Highway, and move into the left lane. Drive about .5 miles, until you see Puuloa Road sign. Turn left onto Puuloa Road.
Drive up the hill for about 1.5 miles on Puuloa Road toward Tripler Army Medical Center, the large pink building on the top of the ridge straight ahead. Please refer to “On Tripler Grounds to COE” directions for COE location.
From Honolulu, Waikiki or Ewa (West of
Pearl Harbor) to Tripler Grounds:
Take Route 78 from the H-1 Freeway. Take the Tripler/Puuloa Road exit (the exit will also say Airport). At the stop sign from either direction, turn up toward the mountain onto Puuloa Road and proceed up the hill.
On Tripler Grounds to COE:
If you have a military ID and car decals, be in your left lane as you are heading up the hill toward Tripler. Take an immediate left after the guard, drive about .2 miles, and take the second possible right into a small shaded parking lot.
If there is no additional parking, there is parking on the left side and behind the building in a lower parking lot.
Head up the stairs from the front parking lot to the main doors.
If you do not have a military ID or car decals, please refer to the following:
When entering TAMC property, you will be stopped by a guard at the gatehouse. The guard may direct you to a guard shack further up the hill on your right hand side. Please be prepared to show: current driver's license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance and inspection certificate. If you are driving a rental vehicle, you must present the rental agreement. Passengers must present photo identification. Please be advised that random searches are in effect, and that the level of force protection on the base may change at any time and without prior notice.
After showing necessary information, make a loop around the hospital, approximately .75 miles. COE will be located toward the end of the loop on your left, Bldg. #160. Park in the small shaded parking lot in front of the building. If there is no additional parking, there is parking on the left side and behind the building in a lower parking lot.
Head up the stairs from the front parking lot to the main doors.
