She was recently the Project Coordinator for an ongoing multi-million dollar renovation project for a local parochial school and parish, coordinating fundraising and construction management with focus on marketing and public relations. She’s also served as the Faculty Coordinator for the School of Communication at American University, Washington D.C., and managed all faculty actions (contracts, grants), ensuring compliance with University and Human Resources’ policies.
Other work experience includes holding a post as Managing Editor for the Hawai‘i Pacific Review and also as an English tutor/grammarian for Hawai‘i Pacific University. She has a Bachelor’s in English with concentration in post-colonial texts and theory and completed coursework for a Master’s of Fine Arts, Creative Writing with a thesis in post-colonial/hybridized narrative and lyrical poetry. Born in southern Philippines and adopted into an ethnically diverse family in Hawai‘i, Sharon is especially grateful for her academic and career opportunities, and working for COE and its mission has been an experience both educational and rewarding.
