Christine Bergado MorriceChristine Bergado Morrice
Public Relations Manager

Christine Bergado Morrice joined the Center for Excellence in January 2002. As part of her current duties, she handles COE’s media relations, including coordination with US Department of Defense, US State Department, as well as civilian and military media representatives in the U.S. and abroad. She also is the editor-in-chief of COE’s Liaison journal and Centerworks newsletter. Christine also handles protocol and briefings with US and foreign visitors to COE. As part of COE’s marketing efforts, she works to develop and disseminate COE’s promotional publications. She supports COE’s events with Public Relations support and conducts media training in exercises and workshops. Previously, she worked at COE’s Pacific Disaster Management Information Network (PDMIN) unit as an information research analyst writing and editing reports on the latest natural disaster/conflict situations in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to working at COE, she worked in the Marketing Department of the Honolulu-based international non-profit organization, the Pacific Telecommunications Council, as Membership Coordinator and liaison in outreach programs.
 
She has also worked as a Research Intern at the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS), as well as the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, and the Philippine Consulate in Melbourne, Australia. She is currently completing an MA degree in Military and Diplomacy Studies at Hawaii Pacific University, where she also received her BA in International Studies. She has also completed course work at Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines, and Deakin University, Australia. Born in the Philippines, she grew up as an expatriate in Thailand. Her research interests include Thai military history.
